Two Pieces on Conservatism Mike Rappaport

The Heritage Foundation publishes a quarterly journal called the Insider, which they distribute through the mail.  Normally, I don’t pay much attention to it, but this edition was really quite excellent.  The piece by Steven Hayward on “The Conservative Movement Since 1950” was quite good, but the real standout — a must read, for me at least — was “The Other American Exceptionalism” which discusses the differences between European and American Conservatives, and how much the former are challenged by European big government.
