Simple thoughts for simple times Tom Smith

I like to think that within the DOD and the CIA and maybe in some sort of secret resort we don’t even know about, our defenders are having deep discussions, full of penetrating wisdom and well sifted statistics on how to fight the “war on terror”.  Maybe they even have a better term than the euphemism “war on terror.”  If this is the case, the thoughts of a mere law professor are superfluous.  But this is only a blog, where amateur foreign policy making is encouraged.

So, the question is, suppose we live on planet unfortunate enough to be occupied by a lot of people who share a religion, or let’s say, a version of a religion, that inclines them to pursue a ferocious war with suicidal intensity against what the rest of us quaintly regard as civilization.  There are lots of them, let’s say, and the planet has also reached a stage of technological development where there are extremely destructive weapons not easily available, but getable with determined effort and lots of money, at least.
