More Troops in Iraq Mike Rappaport

For the life of me, I can’t really figure out why the Bush Administration has refused to place more troops in Iraq.  See this column, which makes a persuasive case for more troops.  This is one time when Viet Nam does provide a lesson.  Right now, the Administration is not doing what it takes to win.  In Viet Nam and in Iraq, once the American people recognized that we were not going to win, support for the war went down.  Bush’s legacy and American safety really turn on how well we do in Iraq.  Yet, Bush refuses to take what appears to be the single most important action he could take to prevail.
