Railroading WolfowitzMike Rappaport

While one cannot know what is in the World Bank Report, it seems pretty clear that the Europeans are trying to use this ethics issue as a means of opposing Wolfowitz’s policies.  Giving Wolfowitz 48 hours to respond is absurd and pretty much makes the case.  I don’t know what the US should do, but it certainly shouldn’t take this lying down.

Update: I really like Dan Simon’s comment: Consent to Wolfowitz’s departure, on the condition that he’s replaced with John Bolton.  While it might be unfair to Wolfowitz, it would expose the hypocrisy of the Europeans.

(A spelling error was corrected.)
