JK Rowling on the attack again over trans rights bill
The outspoken Harry Potter author posted a photo of herself Thursday wearing a T-shirt calling a UK politician behind a controversial gender-identity reform a destroyer of women s rights.
Rowling who has faced death threats over previous comments accused of being transphobic proudly wore the garment to stand in solidarity with protests before a hearing of the Gender Recognition Reform (Scotland) Bill.
If made law, the reform will allow people to be legally recognized in their acquired gender and issued a new birth certificate without a medical diagnosis.

I gather there’s some concern among some of my younger colleagues over whether the law school is going to require us to refer to people by their preferred gender. This could involve not only calling a she a he, but presumably could also require the whole constellation of xe’s, zee’s and whatever else you want to be called. I suppose I would just forswear pronouns when addressing people, which I think I rarely do in the third person. I also don’t think I have had more than a vanishingly few trans-gender students. if any, in my classes. Maybe I could just rely on the old reasonable person test. Or just lecture. Perhaps that’s the ticket.
