After latest batch of ballots, Adam Laxalt leads Nevada senate race by 798 votes (Update) HotAir

So this isn t over but the nice lead Laxalt was sitting on a couple days ago is gone. Obviously if there are another 30k or 35k votes with a split favoring Masto then Laxalt isn t likely to pull this out. And that s really bad news because it probably means the Democrats will have 50 seats again even before the runoff election in Georgia to determine whether Warnock or Walker win that race.

Suppose you have a million independent votes. What are the odds that they split exactly 500K to 500K? I don’t know but presumably they’re pretty low. So as you’re counting them and they converge to exactly that amount, that’s a sign that something improbable is happening, similar to rolling dice, and as you roll more and more snake-eyes, it’s an indication that the dice are loaded. This is just my untutored intuition, but I bet it’s true. We saw this happening in Florida in 2000, which is one reason why SCOTUS was pragmatically correct to stop the recounts.

As to Kathy Hobbs being in charge of overseeing the gubernatorial election in Arizona, as well as being a candidate for governor, this may appear to be a blatant conflict of interest, but in fact is not. It is important that someone invested in the project be in charge of it, and this is what being a candidate gives Kathy Hobbs. QED. (/satire) This bit of satire might be considered election denialism, which I deny it is. It is just the littlest bit of friendly, ah shucks, bit of skepticism imaginable, purely de minimis. Please don’t attack me. I affirm that there is not now, nor has there ever been, any political corruption in Nevada or Arizona. Just watch the Godfather if you don’t believe me. Nor San Diego, for Pete’s sake. Clean. As. A. Whistle.
