President Joe Biden‘s former non-binary nuclear waste guru Sam Brinton walked out of a Minnesota court after a preliminary hearing on luggage theft charges on Wednesday.
Brinton, the former deputy assistant secretary for spent fuel and waste disposition at the Department of Energy s Office of Nuclear Energy, could face up to five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine if found guilty.
According to the complaint, Brinton removed a tag from a woman’s luggage and walked out with the bag at Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport on September 16. The items inside were appraised at $2,325.
