The U.S. auto industry is nominally still privately owned, but it is slowly becoming a de facto state-directed utility. That s the meaning of the Environmental Protection Agency s proposed new vehicle-emissions standards Wednesday that will force-feed the production of electric vehicles, whether or not consumers want them.

The thing I foresee that is most annoying is the (continuing) growth of an overclass that lives off this socialism, which they think they get because of their moral superiority, their good habits, and so forth, while those not fortunate enough to be nepo-babies have to work for their living as well as put up with the elites’ condescension and their taxes. Not pretty.
