Rep. Dan Crenshaw Takes On Dog-Grabbing Agent at United Airlines HotAir

Doggone it! Air travel is hard enough traveling with a two-month-old baby and a little dog. Add an overly-aggressive airline employee into the mix and there is going to be a problem.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) explaining that a woman named Angela was very abusive to Tara Crenshaw as she, Tara s mother, two-month-old baby daughter, and the family s small dog tried to check in for their flight on United Airlines. They were traveling out of Houston and going to D.C. to visit Crenshaw. Angela, it seems, had decided that the Crenshaw group should not be traveling on their flight that day.

Things did not go well.

Since the old Allegheny Airlines got acquired, United is undoubtedly the worst airline in the US, with the possible exceptions of Frontier and now Spirit. But Spirit has never actively abused me, so I’ll give them a pass. For sheer ugliness (in the personality sense) of their employees, the obvious contempt they hold for passengers, and the general awfulness of their service, they get the prize. They’re enough to make you seriously consider how bad it could really be just to load up the truck and drive for a few days. I could give you lots of stories, but my favorite was the time when they left my aged Mom, in her wheelchair, in a room at O’Hare and well, just forgot her. She missed her plane. When she finally turned up — as I recall, we called for her — she was dehydrated and barely coherent. But no apologies for United. Of course not. Why should they apologize? They’ve got their routes and their lobbyists. This is just what you have to expect if you travel by United. While I wouldn’t want the USG to make a habit of it, I would be fine with their just extinguishing that particular corporation. But that would probably be illegal or something.
