The NYT is shocked, shocked! at the state of JRB. His voice was raspy! His performance halting! Good lord, man, he looked like a reanimated corpse. If your uncle looked like that at his wake, you’d have words with the mortician. And Trump was “deeply dishonest” at the debate. Not just dishonest, but super-duper profoundly so. So deeply that little trans children, who just want to express their true gender-fluid natures, are weeping, weeping! at his mendacity. It hardly bears thinking about.

They say never attribute a disaster to malice when mere incompetence will do. Personally, I think this wisdom applies more to Republicans than Democrats, but perhaps Biden being there in spite of his unfitness is just massive incompetence, and this makes me worry more than usual about the hands some of our government is in. A lot of our government just grinds along by itself, somewhat reassuringly I suppose, like a rust-bound, dilapidated old train. Oh, but Chevron is no more. That’s good news. Took long enough.
