San Diego County Supervisors to vote on abandoning Spring Valley homeless sleeping cabins

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) San Diego County leaders voted on Tuesday to approve Board of Supervisors Chair Nora Vargas move to abandon a contested plan to place new sleeping cabins for homeless people at a lot in Spring Valley.

In announcing plans to scrap it earlier this month, Vargas argued the state-supported project, which would have added 150 beds to the county s emergency housing options, failed to meet the communities standard for health and safety amid pushback from residents.

The project was placed on an indefinite pause by county officials two weeks before the supervisor moved to rescind approval for the tiny cabins project.

And thus a member of our dog walking group does not get a bunch of neighbors she doesn’t want. I’m happy for her.
