Biden-Harris Administration: No Remorse for Free-Speech Abuses – WSJ
The disinformation was coming from those who claimed to be battling disinformation. As with the Covid censorship, the suppression of Biden stories appears to be not just a textbook violation of the First Amendment but also a textbook case of why we need a First Amendment, ensuring that Americans can have vigorous and open public debates free of government abridgment. Surely in a close election voters would have wanted to know that Mr. Biden s son had been trailing behind with his hand out while Mr. Biden represented the Unites States overseas, that a lot of cash was going into those hands from industries where Hunter Biden had no particular expertise, and that Joe Biden did not tell the truth about the family business. As for Covid, massive and misguided government responses to the pandemic might have ended much sooner in an environment of open debate. Considering multitrillion-dollar commitments for uncertain health benefits is precisely the kind of moment when Americans need an unfettered debate to vigorously search for the truth and to seek to discover it as quickly as possible.
Tellingly, while the Meta founder pledges to do better in the future, the Biden-Harris administration appears to be stubbornly clinging to its censorship strategy.
