Why did Walz step off the campaign trail at this point of the election, especially in battleground states where middle- and working-class people are keys to victory, to do a Big Apple fundraiser — with the Soroses? George and Alex Soros fund lots of hard-Left progressive causes already, and have other ways to help. Plus, they are not exactly a popular brand with independents and populists who’d rather eat the rich than meet the rich.
