California’s ‘Super Sanctuary’ Refuses to Help ICE With Mass Deportations – Newsweek

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors has voted to prohibit the use of its resources and funding to support federal immigration agents in carrying out deportations.

President-elect Donald Trump, who is set to return to office on January 20, has pledged to implement the largest mass deportation program in U.S. history. His hard-line immigration agenda also includes shutting down the CBP One app and reinstating the “Remain in Mexico” program.

He has also promised to deport people residing in the United States legally under programs established to protect migrants who arrive from certain countries.

On Tuesday, the San Diego County board approved the measure with a 3-1 vote, while Supervisor Joel Anderson was absent.

The county is set to limit the use of its jails, county buildings and personnel in assisting federal immigration enforcement agents.
