U.S. employment growth unexpectedly slows to just 266,000 jobs as Biden says more spending is needed | Daily Mail Online
Biden’s administration says the $1.9 trillion pandemic spending plan is already rebuilding the economy. Now it is pressing for trillions more in infrastructure and education.
‘Today’s report just underscores in my view how vital the actions we’re taking are,’ said Biden. ‘Our efforts are starting to work. But the climb is steep and we still have a long way to go.’
But critics in business groups say more money is not the answer. And they stepped up their demands for the $300 supplement to end.
U.S. Chamber of Commerce Executive Vice President Neil Bradley said analysis showed that one in four recipients were taking home more money than they earned working.
‘The disappointing jobs report makes it clear that paying people not to work is dampening what should be a stronger jobs market,’ he said.
Something that can’t go on forever, won’t, a wise man said.
