Alligator with missing limbs shows up on Florida doorstep – New York Daily News
A massive alligator missing two limbs plopped down on the doorstep of a Florida home last week and refused to leave.
The residents of the home in Tampa were shocked to see the 8-foot-9 gator sprawled out in front of their front door on June 30 and were unable to get the animal to move despite their efforts, reads a Facebook post by Croc Encounters, an organization that rescues reptiles.
Once we discovered a Bearded Dragon on our property that was missing one foot and various toes. I called her Madelaine, short for Madelaine Albright, since she bore a distinct resemblance to that public servant. It was weird, since Dragons are not native (they’re from Australia) and it’s not as if you ever see them in the wild here in the Southland. It was as if she knew we were lizard lovers. She lived long after that, for a lizard, and laid many sterile eggs, which I assumed were normal but LWJ said were hysterical pregnancies.
