Goldman won’t take companies without ‘at least one diverse board member’

Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon told CNBC on Thursday his investment bank will help companies go public only if they have at least one diverse board member.

Solomon said the performance of public offerings of U.S. companies with at least one female director has been significantly better in the last four years than those without.

It will be interesting to see how this works out for them and whether there will ever be reliable empirical studies of whether it costs them anything. Of course there will be lots and lots of empirical studies that it results in only rainbows and unicorns (who are of course, like angels, without gender).
