Phony ’emotional support’ animals should give regulators paws

I love my three-legged cat and believe me, emotional support goes both ways especially during both of our feeding times. But the Department of Transportation has it right in proposing to allow airlines to bar passengers from bringing their self-described support animals on-board flights.

Chopi the Labrador would jump on people and lick them and probably try to run up and down the aisle; Mitze the mentally ill pit-bull would just be generally inappropriate; Gandalf the Bichon would provide admirable emotional support as long as he had his own seat, as any self-respecting person needs, and would not like any other emotional support animals with which he might be confused.
