Simply stand up for your friends, colleagues or allies when you know that they are being lied about. It seems so simple and so obvious a thing to do, and yet it is a habit in exceptionally short supply in America today.

When that semiliterate mob claimed Bret Weinstein was a racist, why did his and his wife s colleagues not stand up and say, Hang on a second. I ve known these people for decades. You come for the Weinsteins, you come for me. Or even just, I happen to know they are not racists, so take that back.

This is Douglas Murray. I’m reading/listening to his book on the Madness of Crowds. It’s good, but he likes the sound of his own voice too much, I’m almost reluctant to say, but he can stand up for himself, I guess.
