These Small Conservative Law Firms Are Raking In Business – WSJ
The nation s largest corporate law firms have been on their heels during President Trump s second term, but for small firms with impeccable conservative bona fides these have been boom times.
What they lack in name recognition or size, these firms make up for with a crucial credential: loyalty to Trump and to MAGA causes.
Steve Roberts, co-chair of litigation boutique Lex Politica, said the firm, with offices in Austin, Texas, and Washington, D.C., has experienced a swell of business from Fortune 500 companies and is fielding résumés from big-firm lawyers. Lex Politica numbers about a dozen lawyers. It added four hires just a few weeks after Trump was sworn into office this year including Roberts, who has long catered to Republican clients.
By working for a small, overtly political firm during an unabashedly conservative presidential administration, Roberts said he can amp that up and lean into the political moment we re having.
Lex Politica says it has provided legal and strategic advice on the formation of the Department of Government Efficiency, Elon Musk s effort to slash the federal bureaucracy. The firm says it has also represented Musk in his private capacity, as well as entrepreneur and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and dozens of GOP Senate and House members.
Conservative firms are well-positioned to help clients navigate an administration that prizes loyalty above all else. Their rise also comes as clients seek favorable outcomes from a federal judiciary that leans to the right, thanks in part to the judges appointed during Trump s first term.
