Where are the 250 missing rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters? – The San Diego Union-Tribune
Animal lovers from near and far joined forces to help save dozens of the hundreds of rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and hamsters that remain unaccounted for after being sent to Arizona last month.
The San Diego Humane Society transferred 318 small animals to the Humane Society of Southern Arizona in Tucson last month for a better chance at finding homes and to alleviate pressure on its local shelters.
However, the local nonprofit is now working to track down 250 of the animals the number reportedly adopted out through a private rescue organization that has yet to account for them.
