White House Pride Month tweet about our kids sparks backlash

A flood of social media users, including Twitter owner Elon Musk, reacted to the post with outrage.  

You are the government. They are NOT your kids, Musk, a father of 10, said in a reply to the White House post.

Our kids are not fodder for the government, the billionaire Tesla and SpaceX CEO added in a separate post. 

Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis 2024 presidential campaign also took issue with the Biden administration s verbiage. 

They are not your kids, the DeSantis campaign wrote on Twitter.
