Update: 63 Chinese ‘Mayflower’ Christians Released From Incarceration | RealClearPolitics
UPDATE: A group of 63 persecuted Chinese Christians flew to the United States Friday morning after spending a week in a Thai holding cell with their future hanging in the balance, amid fears they would be forced to return to China.
After a feverish week of negotiations between the U.S. and Thai officials, the group were allowed to board a plane expected to land at the Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport Friday evening, advocates told RealClearPolitics. Their U.S. sponsors, who have been paying for their expenses while they remained in legal limbo over the last three years, will help them resettle in Texas.
Bob Fu, a Chinese American pastor who founded ChinaAid, an organization providing legal services to Chinese Christians, and other advocates are elated by the turn of events.
Well, good. Just in time for Easter.
