It is terrifying to imagine what might have happened had Elon Musk not taken over Twitter and allowed independent journalists to expose the U.S. government s censorship operation.
Uncovering such a massive and secret operation to censor Americans has been shocking. Over 80 American government officials were involved in censoring Twitter on covid alone.
The censorship industrial complex employs thousands of people in government and nonprofit cut-outs, which act as their proxies.
The people who created America wanted to rule themselves. They had lived through the abuses of royal power in Europe. They wanted to be able to say whatever they wanted. What went wrong?
If this sort of post is supposed to make me sick with dread, it’s working. What is wrong with these people? I can see, sort of, how someone might get so exercised over Covid, or climate change, or whatever, that they would take to the airwaves, or the internet waves, and not shut up. But it is beyond chilling that a few people who find themselves in the position to censor massively their fellow citizens, should seize that power with such alacrity. And it almost worked and could easily work again. Our vaunted system of government was supposed to stop this sort of thing from happening. I don’t think its any exaggeration to say that but for an immigrant from South Africa who happens to be the richest guy in the world (that we know of) our republic would be spiraling into a technocratic hell, or at least purgatory. People should be a lot more upset over this mega-scandal than they are. All I can think of to do is pray.
