U.S. Inflation Accelerates to 7.5%, a 40-Year High – WSJ

U.S. inflation accelerated to a 7.5% annual rate in January, reaching a four-decade high as strong consumer demand and pandemic-related supply constraints kept pushing up prices.

Consistent with my deep dive into this subject on youtube, I think that inflation is rooted on our departure from the gold standard and cannot end except in a catastrophic crackup boom, a la the late Weimar Republic, and/or essentially an issue of clogged up and regulation-impaired supply chains, which will eventually sort themselves out, a la Jeff Snider. Or possibly, somewhere in between.
