The future

In the future, and I’m not sure people think about it, you will be able to select, as it were, the portion of the internet, or reality, that you want your attention to be limited to.  Think of it as a searchlight, or that new telescope, the James Webb, they just launched. You will have the ability to focus on a small spot, or spread yourself over a broader area. This tech will advance very fast. For most of us, to put it brutally, non-technical types, it will be something to stand back and watch, like the recent wonders that Elon Musk has pulled off.

I’m grateful to have been born before and then during the great informational revolution — whatever you want to call it. What a remarkable thing. First there was the happy squalor of a pre-networked home, where the telephone was the fastest way, unless you happened to live above a Western Union or something, to contact the outside world.
