I think I met Steve Schmidt years and years ago in DC. He was working for Bush the Elder when he was Reagan (may peace be upon him)’s VP. I was trying to get a sense of what a Bush presidency might be like. I forget what he said but I ended up thinking I would not be comfortable in a Bush administration. I was also impressed that Schmidt had a big Mercedes and a passel of kids. But it could have been some other guy. Aging brain, etc.
