Kentucky sees highest spike in coronavirus cases after protests

It s unclear whether the protests had any impact on the surge of deaths reported Sunday in the state.

I think this means there was no relation between the protests and the spike in cases. How could there have been? The incubation period is at least a few days to a week, as I recall, and the protest was last Wednesday. Were any of the protestors among the ill or related to them or in contact with them? That seems relevant. This is not fake news, but it’s close. Reporting a coincidence as if it’s a significant fact. The protest might have caused spread, but those people would probably not have shown up yet.
