Valley Fire at 17,345 acres, 3% containment – YouTube

Firefighters are racing Tuesday to get control of the Valley Fire burning near Alpine. As of the last update, the fire remains at 17,345 acres with 3% containment.

So I got my water pump back and it works! Blessings and thanks to Dallas at Jamul Auto! Now I’m going to spray what little PhosCheck I have on my East facing trees. Who knows, it might make a difference. It’s calm and overcast now and there’s really no sign of the fires, even though two miles down the road there are Highway Patrol and road closures. LWJ, Theresa and Mark seem pretty chill. I’m worrying enough for everyone.

Little note here — News casters say the fire is “near Alpine.” Not so much. Look at the map! It’s between Alpine and Jamul and if the weather changes as predicted, and I hope it does not, it will be coming toward Jamul. The couple who lost there home are “from Jamul.” Just sayin’.
