The New York Times loves the Chinese Communist Party

The report, written by New York Times Asia technology columnist Li Yuan, goes to astonishing lengths to repackage the Chinese Communist Party s brutal reign into something palatable and even admirable, including repeating, uncritically, the regime s ludicrous coronavirus infections and fatalities figures.

The story cites three random sources, a businessman, a retired lawyer, and a Chinese investor, just so it can allege, laughably, that China s purportedly successful handing of the pandemic that originated within its borders has upended many perceptions, including ideas about freedom.

Sure, China may be a brutally oppressive dictatorship, the article explains, but at least its people have the freedom to move around and lead a normal day-to-day life thanks to the state’s allegedly victorious war against COVID-19. The same cannot be said for the United States, the story adds, what with its quaint beliefs about liberty and self-determination.

Unbelievably, parroting state-approved talking points is not even the worst thing about the New York Times report. The worst thing is that the aforementioned businessman, Duncan Clark, who is cited as a chief example of China s version of freedom, was formerly an adviser to the Chinese e-commerce conglomerate Alibaba, whose founder, Jack Ma, has disappeared from the public eye following a dispute with state regulators.

And why hasn’t some mainstream paper published the list of CCP members recently leaked to the Australian press? I at least can’t find it. I want to see if anyone I know is on the list! I can think of a few who might be.
