EU badly split on dialogue with Russia – Asia Times

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda took a shot at the French-German initiative, saying: It would be like trying to talk to the bear to save some of the honey. Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte remarked acidly that he abhorred the very thought of sitting in the same room with Putin.

Those darn Lithuanians. Why can’t they just let bygones be bygones? Can’t they see that Merkel’s and Macron’s proposals were super “thoughtful” and “farsighted?” Putin might even say he’s sorry for everything.
